Hamtaro has finally hit Malaysian TV. I was afraid they'd bring in some bad dub in Malaysian, as it turns out, we got the English version that runs in the US. Nearly went into shock from the cute, kawaii hamsters last night. It's true the cartoon might've been meant for 5-year-olds, since it's almost a no-brainer, but there was that little romantic tangent between Hamtaro and Bijou at the end, which made me go "Ah!" Well, the dub is still terrible, since I'm sure a lot of things would sound better in Japanese. Maybe if they come out with DVDs. There's also the appalling hamster keeping methods the series seems to encourage. Laura actually lets Hamtaro escape from his cage without wiring down the hutch's slid.
To the show's credit though, the hamsters all sniff and chew everything in sight. They behave exactly like real hamsters, right down to the wiggles.
