Ramadhan, Second Day.

Today marks the second day of Ramadhan, when Muslims all over the world fast from dawn to dusk. I guess I should say something meaningful about the event, but really, all my reasons to fast are convenient stabs in the dark. See:

a) My family is Muslim.
b) I can't eat out anyway. I could get put in jail.
c) I don't have a problem with not eating.
d) It's dehydration that bugs me.
e) I can conveniently not worry about eating this way.
f) 3 meals a day is overrated.
g) I guess fasting's also good for my health.
h) I'm not Muslim, damnit. I don't have religious issues with Ramadhan.

Tsk. Kealan thinks I'm way too sensitive about the plight of the undead. Not really, I'm just a zombie bigot. Oh, and a vampire bigot, and a demon bigot...

So far as dehydration goes...
...I thought water was allowed. Maybe it has to do with what sect you're affiliated with? I don't know very many Muslims socially.

No, water isn't allowed. I know Christian fasts allow water, but I've honestly never seen Muslims drink during a fast over here. Well, it certainly is something I've got to ask around about. Just to get this on the record, Malaysia's official take on Islam follows the Syafie (not so sure if this the correct spelling, cos I'm a wanker like that, but it's pronounced sha-fee-ee).

Hey, I'd love a drink right about now, but it's all about the inner strength, and patience, and stuff like that I have to learn. ;)
