Hrm? What about it cracked you up, petal? :)
I actually feel complimented the reviewer went to such lengths to point out what was unlikeable. But, y'know, I get glad when people read my stories. ;)

just the lengths at which ppl will go to explain why something made zero sense. So much easier to say "i didn't get it!" :)

Ah, petal, but see, if the critic just said, "I didn't get it!", that would be un-literary! And what is a literary review without literature?

Was the story inspired by your last quest for new jeans? (I haven't read the story but I remember that you bought pants the last time you were in Bangkok.)

Hey there! :)

The story was inspired by my last trip to Bangkok, but it was more about walking around with my father, and buying pants with him. Everywhere we went, the shopkeepers would speak to me in Thai, assuming I was my father's whore. There were times they'd outright scold me for not translating (for him) or not helping them sell stuff. Sitting down to eat in public with my father, or even just getting on trains together, was just as bad.
